Adapting to a future.

When the restrictions are lifted.

Friday, April 24, 2020

There has been so much media coverage on Covid-19. So many questions as to what our new normal is going to be once the restrictions are lifted.

I intend to keep this blog to a micro level and talk about my personal opinion on where the massage industry will be once we get back to 'normal.' Baring in mind I don't have a crystal ball!

It would a touch dull and naive to say nothing will change. The government will lift the restrictions and we will just pick where we left off. That would be fine, wouldn't it?

For me, as a Massage Therapist, it will take time to build up my clientele again. Meaning, my clients will need to be reassured that getting a massage is safe on a hygiene level. A form of trust I guess has been breached during this time, due to no fault of my own.

From opening ten years ago my personal and clinical hygiene has been excellent (again this is just opinion) as it is not something I am not scored on, say, like a restaurant or a cafe would be.

I'm meticulous with hand washing. Fresh towels and couch roll are used between each client. These have been my normal standards.

Can I reassure any reader this will continue to be the case (if not a little more, as we can all do more right?)

Despite being in lockdown I would like to think I am contactable. Please feel free to reach out, even if it is for the briefest of chats. I am happy to talk professionally (without any sort of fees) to anyone interested in and tips or advice on self-help e.g mobility exercises or stretching routines.

Yours in health

Richard
